Thus far, Lisa has done all our posts, but I decided to share my "toppins" (two pence) about this Great Britian place or whatever.
So I've traveled overseas before, but never to a developed country, and never in business class. I highly recommend flying business class international; that is, if you have a spare $6000 lying around and have nothing better to do with your money. So thanks Northrop, for the comfortable flight (champagne before takeoff, and a full 3 course meal in the air), but even with a reclining seat, Lisa managed to get 5 hours of sleep to my 1-2 hours of interrupted sleep. Too bad I wasn't back in coach cuddling and sleeping next to her...
This past week I've been working some pretty good overtime, about 50 hours. I even had to work on sunday, but it's still better than having to do homework when I get home from work!
So as you can see from the sweet pics that my hot wife posted below, we went to Skipton Castle this past weekend. Apparently, Skipton Castle is over 900 years old, and is one of the most complete and best preserved medieval castles in England. Yeah sure, 900 years old, like I believe that. But seriously, being the first Castle I've been to, I was quite amazed. One of my co-workers that visited the castle was "not too impressed." I don't know what she was smoking.
So we've all seen Lord of the Rings and I can guarantee that Tolkein's "Shire" must have been inspired by Yorkshire. This place is exactly like The Shire; beautiful green rolling hills everywhere (minus the hobbit holes). The one thing that these pictures don't tell is that this place is COLD! Think late October or early November in Indiana. It was like 40-45 yesterday, yeah, not too warm. Which brings me to another movie: Braveheart. So that movie is supposed to be set in Scotland, right? Mel Gibson is running around in this kilt and short sleeves or whatever during the whole thing. Yeah right! If it's this cold in Yorkshire in the late spring, I would imagine there's only about a week in the whole year in Scotland where it's warm enough for Braveheart style clothes. (Lisa: He's trying to tell you that they must have been freezing their butts off while filming the movie!)
In other news, we are moving into a real apartment tomorrow, and moving out of this Bed & Breakfast. Darn, no more tasty eggs & bacon every morning. It's probably for the best though, since the only direction I'm growing these days seems to be horizontal. Our new place has two bedrooms (that means a place for visitors to stay!), a full kitchen with dishwasher, nice living room with couch, TV, and PS2, and last but not least, a washer and dryer! So since Lisa has nothing better to do than post pictures on the internet, I was thinking she could wash all my co-workers clothes to make some $$ on the side. Nah, I won't make her do that, she has better things to do like play the Settlers video game, and post pictures on the internet. (Lisa: Hello, I do other very important things around here like chatting online and... other stuff.)
Well, that's all for now kiddies, we'll be watching Star Wars soon, and we'll let you know what kind of crazy adventures we have this coming weekend!
